MidWeek Magnum – 2016 Chateau Pradeaux Bandol Rosé$15 BTG
Every Wednesday Taste Wine Bar & Kitchen hosts Midweek Magnums.
This week’s magnum: 2016 Chateau Pradeaux Bandol Rosé
Kick off summer early by stopping in for our fancy rosé magnum before the Holiday weekend! Bandol Chateau Pradeaux is located on the outskirts of the town of St. Cyr Sur Mer, which lies directly on the Mediterranean between Toulon and Marseilles. During the Second World War, Arlette Portalis and her mother Suzanne returned to the domain which had been destroyed. Today Cyrille is the only descendant and, with the restored land, Arlette has passed on her passion of Bandol. Hopefully this love will continue on to Cyrille’s two sons, Etienne and Edouard.
Château Pradeaux Bandol Rosé is composed of Cinsault and Grenache as well as Mourvedre. After a short maceration on the skins, in order to extract a light color, the juice is fermented at low temperatures to retain freshness, fruit and acidity. After being aged in stainless steel cuves, the wine is normally bottled in the spring of the year following harvest. Truly an amazing wine of France!
