This week’s magnum: Division Winemaking Company, Cuvée Béton, Oregon, USA 

The bistros of Paris are filled with quaffable reds and whites, many of which originate from regions like Saumur, Cheverny and Touraine in the Loire AOC. These particular wines are mostly made of Cabernet Franc, Gamay, Côt (Malbec) and Pinot Noir. We loved drinking these wines for their simplicity, yet terrior driven character that typifies lower alcohol, vibrant acidity and little to no oak influence. The 2013 Béton is made primarily (70% or so) of Cabernet Franc from Southern Oregon’s Applegate Valley with the remaining Gamay and Pinot Noir coming from the Willamette Valley.
